"The Game is On"

If I were to rate "Sherlock" on a BBC scale of one to ten, with a ten being "North and South" and a one being . . . uh . . . we'll say "Robin Hood" because I can't think of any other BBC shows we have all seen, "Sherlock" would be an eight . . . eight and  half . . . or nine . . . no higher than nine point eight. Seriously though, this show is amazing.

It is your basic Sherlock Holmes story, only it takes place in modern day London, so they have things like cars and guns. After returning home from war as a wounded army doctor, John Watson is struggling to live in London with a painful injury and only a soldier's pension. A friend knows of a man looking for a roommate in his "flat" (aren't all those British terms so cool!) and introduces Watson to Sherlock Holmes, the world's only Consulting Detective--he invented the job himself. Thus begins the case solving.

The mysteries are suspenseful and exciting. They give just enough clues to let the audience figure out some things, but then save a few surprises for the end. Though each episode is an hour and a half, the pace is quick enough that it rarely gets boring. The first mystery is about a series of suicides that were committed the same way-so was it suicide? or murder? In the second episode strange symbols are being found along with the bodies of residents in buildings that are virtually impenetrable. The third episode involves a series of tests for Sherlock set up by some maniac who  will kill hostages if Sherlock doesn't solve the mysteries in time. When the three episodes were up, all I wanted was more. (Side note, season 2 comes out in 2012.)

So come this Thanksgiving break when we are all back together, we are going to have to find a precious five-ish hours to watch this excellent series. I can't wait for you all to see it so you can love it as much as I do.

Don't be Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Marzipan

My dear wonderful wayward terrible despicable lovely siblings,

What the heck?  We created this blog one year ago for a reason.  That reason?  To show our mother that we have brought our TV watching to a whole other level!  I feel as though we have not only disappointed her but all out there who watch television against their parents wishes.  We have a responsibility to show those of the world that through families Television watching can last forever.  Our little brother is subjected to the "No TV until after 7 rule" while we are aloud to watch anytime we want.  It is up to us to watch and write on this blog to show our mother that we can not be stopped no matter what!  With that I will move into the better, more optimistic portion of this post.

"I Remember Everything"

Dun dun . . . . Dun dun . . . . Dun dun . . . .this is the first thing we heard on last nights episode of Castle. It was her heartbeat. Why did it beat you ask after being taken down by a sniper? Because she had something to hold onto. Richard Castle, her one coquette. The Answer to her love's duet. Ok now really. Besides the beginning where she almost died then didn't what do we have here?

The real story picks up two months after Beckett was shot. She hasn't talked to Castle in all that time. She told him she would call but she did not. After the initial introductions with the team she goes to see Castle. I was very pleased with this reunion. I was worried it would be like Castle just comes back the minute she shows up and says sorry but no. He was mad. He professed his love as she died, something she told him she didn't remember, and then she blew him off for two months. He didn't have to give her anything. He didn't owe her anything. The man was ticked. He was however less ticked once she told him she and her boyfriend Josh broke up (Hallelujah). They talked on the swings which was adorable and he agreed to come back. This was based off a very vague statement that put me into quiet squeels as I was in the Library as I watched. "I know I'm not going to be able to have the kind of relationship I want until the wall comes down. I cant do that until this is put to rest." By "this" she means her mother's murder.

Well all in all there is no luck. Castle gets a call that says if Beckett looks into the case anymore she will be killed and that is that. So what does he do? Does he tell her? No, obviously honesty has nothing to do with this relationship. He leads her away from it saying that helping those families who have lost someone is "enough for now". This statement goes for their relationship too. What they have right here right now is "enough for now." (But not later?!)

The last two scenes are key. In one we have Castle standing in his study looking at a board with Beckett's mother's case all over. Just because Beckett can't look into it doesn't mean he isn't going to. The last scene is Beckett talking to her therapist. She is crying and she says that she lied. The doctor asks about what. She answers the about the shooting. "Do you remember more?" "I remember everything." Well well well. She knows he confessed his love as she died. She lied to him. He will eventually find this out. I suppose it's To be continued. Now make sure you check out my post tomorrow about NCIS because I'm sure it's gonna be awesome!

Who's that girl? It's Jess!

After a long summer of re-runs and anticipation of new shows and new seasons, the weeks we have all been waiting for are finally here. And I would like to take this opportunity to kick it off by posting a tribute to what I believe is going to be one of my new favorite shows: The New Girl staring Zooey Deschanel.

Quick summary: Jess Day is a young woman who, after discovering her long-term boyfriend is cheating on her, moves into a loft apartment with three male roommates - prickly bartender Nick, womanizer Schmidt and intense personal trainer Coach. The guys try to help Jess get back on her feet and into the dating world. Written by Fox Publicity

My review: I love, love, love the first episode. (If you have talked to me in the past week you already know that) I laughed so hard I actually cried the first time I watched it. And I have watched it several times since then. It still makes me happy.

Top ten moments: (in no particular order)

Schmidt: I’ll be like your guide.

Jess: Like Gandalf through Middle Earth?

Schmidt: Probably not like . . . okay, first of all let’s take the Lord of the Rings references and put them in a deep, dark cave where no one is going to find them. Ever.

Jess: Except Sméagol. He lives in a cave.

. . .

Schmidt: You’re going to walk over there and you’re going to stand next to him and you’re going to smile. . . You’re not going to smile like that. . . You look like a hungry badger. . . Stop that.

. . .

Jess: I was going for a hot farmer’s daughter kinda thing. Like “Oooo, I'm going to go milk my cows . . . with my buckets.”

. . .

Coach: STOP IT!

. . .

Jess: (to Mom on the phone) No, I don’t think so.

(to Nick)Hey, are you going to murder me because you’re a stranger I met on the internet?

Nick: Yes I am.

Jess: (to Mom) He says "No," Mom.

. . .

Coach: (to the tune of I Had the Time of My Life) There’s bears in my house . . .

. . .

Peter: I like your glasses.

Jess: Thanks. They help me see.

. . .

Schmidt: We’re leaving in ten minutes. Did you shave your legs?

Jess: I will now.

Schmidt: Front and back?

Jess: Yes.

Schmidt: Thank you.

. . .

Nick: I have lived with a woman, as you know, and so I know that there are pros and there are real cons:

Pro – They smell nice.

Con – Every once in a while the mood changes and your not sure why. They will ruin your life if you let them. They will break down your will to live.

Pro- They’re really good at folding things.

. . .

Nick: We are her boyfriends. We are reverse Mormons. One man just isn’t enough for her.

3 big finales you probably missed

As most of you know this was a big week for TV. Most shows had their season finales. While I don't follow all TV shows I do like to watch season finales to see what big episodes are happening. This brought me to one show I do follow but rarely blog about and two shows that I don't follow closely but had HUGE season finales. Let's go through them shall we?

CASTLE
Wowie people. Now as most of you know I am a die hard NCIS fan but after seeing both finales this took my vote on the episode of the week poll. I mean I only began watching Castle because basically I'm in love with Nathan Fillion. The acting of pretty much everyone else kinda stunk. But then, something changed. Maybe I changed - oops - I mean I began to have a new appreciation for the show and many of it's characters. Stana Katic grew on me as did her hair. In the beginning she had some of the WORST hair styles I have ever seen but finally in season three it looks good. But the point is that the UST (unresolved sexual tension for the newbies) was really REALLY good. So this episode was monumental.

Background - We have Beckett's mother's murder that is at the heart of the show. Castle originally opened it back up for Beckett. Then she found out more and more leading to an epic kiss between the two.

Then this episode comes. People involved in the case are being killed off. Castle confronts Beckett and tells her to walk away, that the people she loves don't want her to die. He mentions her boyfriend Josh and her Dad. Then Beckett asks about Castle? What about him. He simply puts it that he doesn't want her to die because he's her partner and friend. Beckett questions if that is all. "I don't know what we are! We kiss and we don't talk about it. We almost die frozen in each others arms and we don't talk about it so no I have no Idea what we are!" Whew! I need a break from this amazingness! She sends him away telling her they are over. Ok so long story short their chief is involved in her mother's murder and the head bad guys go to kill him off. Castle protects Beckett pulling her away from the blood battle awaiting. At the funeral Beckett is giving her speech when she is shot point blank from far away. Castle runs to her and whispers that he loves her. Fade. to. black. Obviously she's not dead but from spoilers we know she was not wearing a vest, it was not set up, and it was very near to the heart. Intense baby!

BONES
I don't know if any of you know or care about bones in any way shape or form but if you know the initial story read on.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Bones and Booth are supposed to be together. This has been known from season 1 episode 1. But there has been a long rocky road. Their first kiss was under mistletoe in season three. Well no actually. On the season finale of season of season 5 we find out they actually kissed the first case they were on then had a huge blowout that threw them apart. Then Booth confessed his feelings for Bones in that same episode but Bones shoots him down. So he got a lovely girlfriend. Hannah - aka - the devil. Ok no she was very nice but the devil still. Then in Season 6 episode 9 Bones confesses her feelings for him but Booth shuts her down because he has Hannah. Bones cries and my heart shatters. Then in episode 13 Booth and Hannah break up because Hannah doesn't want marriage. Which brings us to the penultimate episode. A bunch of stuff happens in the middle but it doesn't really matter.

So one of the interns that works in the Smithsonian dies and it is taking a toll on everyone so Booth invites Bones to stay at his house. Just for safety ;) right. Well about 3am she comes in crying because of the intern dying and he holds her. Fade to black. We see nothing else. Until she comes talking to Angela. This was probably my favorite scene because Bones tells Angela that she climbed into bed with Booth right as Hodgins walks in. Angela screams at him to go away. He insists but Angela persists and he leaves. We never hear the conversation. So the finale.

Booth and Bones seem normal. The case involves a bowling alley so they have to go undercover as a couple. It is super cute. All is normal until . . . So Angela is pregnant and has her baby. After all the hugs and kisses Booth and Bones are walking home when Bones asks Booth how Angela and Hodgins are feeling. He says that it is exciting. They love eachother and it is a new venture. Then Brennan reveals that she is pregnant and Booth is the father! And that is it! Now many saw this coming because Emily Deschanel is pregnant in real life but it is still super exciting!!!! I was squeeling!

THE MENTALIST
Jane killed Red John. Yup it's true! Just like that. Ok well there is a little more to the story. So. The team knew that Red John had an accomplice and had 5 suspects. The head director, their personal director, Van Pelt's Fiance, I don't remember the other two but they were important people too They told each suspect that they had a witness hidden in a hotel room and they told each person a different floor so 205 305 405 505 and 605. Then they set up camera's in each of the rooms and waited. Eventually a person came in the room and she jumped and killed herself before they were able to catch her. But they knew the hotel room so they knew who it was. They set up the meet in a mall food court hoping Red John would also show. But. Here's the kicker. Right as the meet was supposed to happen Jane realizes something. The woman who came into the room had rope. She was going to swing down into the floor below and the room below was the room given to Van Pelt's fiance. AND the two were heading up to the location where the real witness was hidden right then.

So Jane calls Lisbon who of course doesn't answer. Finally she does right as she opens the door to Van Pelt and her fiance. Jane tells her and she turns around and gets shot. But she has a vest of course, still she's down. Fiance is holding a gun to Van Pelt and Lisbon throws a pillow at him then Van Pelt shoots and kills her own fiance. But this isn't over yet. So Lisbon is talking to Jane on the phone and Jane has her push redial on the Fiance's cell phone. A man sitting right next to Jane's table answers with a creepy voice and just says "Oh well you win some you lose some." This guy mind you is played by Bradley Whitford. He plays Carmen's dad on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants AND Josh on The West Wing! What the heck right? So Jane goes over and asks him who he is and he responds, "I have many names but I'm most known as Red John." He has a gun on Jane. They talk and Red John says he thinks he is done killing and it is time to find a new way to give back. Jane promises to kill him no matter what. Red John stands up and starts to walk away. Jane begs him to stop with tears in his eyes. He asks how he knows he is really Red John. "Your wife smelled clean. You're daughter like sweat and strawberries and cream." I guess it was a children's shampoo. Jane is facing him then we hear 4 shots. The place goes insane people running everywhere. Red John falls to the ground. Jane simply calls for the check and sits down drinking tea. The cops come and Jane, still smiling, puts his hands on his head and that's it! THAT'S IT! Red John is dead, Jane's going to jail. What the heck!!!! I can't believe it! I'm freaking out! What will happen next season. Oh well.

So there are three epic finales that I loved. Post anymore that you saw and loved!

NCIS: Season Finale

Well folks we are officially in Haitus. I'm a little depressed. I mean you look forward to the season finale and then it comes and you don't know what to do with your life. Get a job? Take up knitting? Aw well.

So Pyramid. I wouldn't call this the most intense episode ever but I will say it was fun. I thought the last episode was more eventful. This however had its moments. I think Ziva's going soft on me. I mean really hon? You walk into a room and don't prepare yourself for combat? The mossad assassin has left the building. Oh well made for some sweet tension. I think my favorite was when Tony was all freaking out and EJ was all "we're all worried" and then Tony was like "It's worse for some of us" and then EJ gives him that look of death! It was awesome! I was like "Yo EJ (cuz I'm black now) this brother is taken!" Other than that there wasn't a ton of Tiva action so we'll move on.

So the P2P killer is a deady. It took a lot of work and I don't even blame him for being a murderer. Ok well I do because he did murder but you know who I blame? Kort. It seems like this always leads to Kort. He killed Jasper Shepherd, he tried to blow up Dinozzo and now he trained a serial killer. I hate that man. I was hoping he'd die but I only got one eye out of it. You know who else I was hoping would die? EJ. I know it's terrible but I really hate her. I thought she'd be dead at the beginning. Then I thought she'd be dead wrapped in the seranwrap but no. Darn these writers and their morals.

The Secretary of the Navy evil? Wow I couldn't have ever seen that coming. Him being EJ's uncle was even bigger. Alas he is gone now and there is a knew boss. One that is in cahoots with Dinozzo. I won't lie when I first saw Dinozzo enter that room I thought he was taking a position in Rota Spain. But it's worse. He is supposed to track one agent who is selling secrets and from the look on his face it is someone very important. 1st guess, Ziva. So in "undercover" work Tony will have to get close to Ziva. Not. Good. Well good just not under the right circumstances. Ziva's got trust issues up the wazoo. This is not going to help. Well I guess we've got three months to mull it over. Other than that stupid CI-Ray is still working with Kort in something that has to do with Tel aviv. I'm worried.

From Emily Landeen I bid you people farewell on the NCIS front until September.

New Fall Series

I know that there won't be time to watch them all but here are some TV series that looked interesting to me. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Grimm

Terra Nova (Produced by Steven Spielberg)

New Girl

Alcatraz (it's JJ Abrams, I know but he also did Star Trek)

Napoleon Dynamite (I probably won't watch it but mormon culture insists that I put this up)

Awake (That main guy is Lucius Malfoy, he does a good American Accent)

Falling Skies

Smash - Preview

Alright team I have two things to say.
1) Looks better than Glee which isn't saying much
2) Is the Last Five Years playing in anyone else's head right now

"I'm up every morning at six
And standing in line
With two hundred girls
Who are younger and thinner than me
Who have already been to the gym"

Here's hoping this pans out better than glee!

NCIS: Hey, We're Gonna Get Him

Well if any of you tuned in on NCIS on this fine night I'm sure you keyed in my squeeling but in case you forgot . . . Whaaaaaaaaaa! Oh my goodness gracious. Ok we'll get to the main event but let's talk, first, about the episode overall shall we.

Haha I had you going for a second there didn't I. Yea right. We're starting with the main scene. An elevator. Two people stand. Tony. and. Ziva. One crying. I know who you are thinking, Tony. You're wrong. Ziva is crying. I'm going to do what my dear sister Melissa did once upon a time and give you the play by play in screenshots.

Ziva: There is always another monster.

Tony: Yup (He looks at her)

Ziva: I mean we pursue them but we just keep making targets of ourselves.

Tony: Better us than someone who didn't sign up for it.

Ziva: I don't think I can take anymore

Tony pulls Ziva in and holds her

Tony: Hey, We're gonna get him K?

Tony strokes her face and then moves in just a tad then then . . .

Oh well I love group hugs.

Somethings coming here folks. Ok BUT to the rest of the episode. The P2P killer has struck again. This time he went after an NCIS agent. From the get go Gibbs is talking to Franks but no one else is so one can assume that Franks is dead. We follow the case and find out the P2P killer is a man named Jonas Cobb (yes I did think of Jane Cobb) and that he was an experiment went wrong. He is killing people and the CIA specifically Trent Kort is to blame. I hate that man. Here's hoping that CIRay is to blame too.

Franks comes back on Gibbs' orders and brings back Vance files. Franks is in bad condition. He's coughing smoking and drinking. The man is old. He's talking to Gibbs from the dead man's seat the whole time. Finally Franks goes outside and sees the P2P killer. Franks fights him one last time before dying, stabbed in the throat. Gibbs is taking it hard but they realize that all these people are leading to one person: EJ. They call her but the killer takes down her team and the last thing we see is a gun against her head. Here's hoping she's dead.

Well that is the episode. But wait. Promo time.
Check it out here or here is my synopsis:
Ziva is captured. Tony is going to save her. Will she die? No. Will she quit on NCIS after being saved? Perhaps. Then again is that bad? No rule #12 :) In any case she'll be back next season so I'm happy with whatevs.

The Good, The Bad, and The Chang

Ok I will be the first to say that I cannot wait for Community Season 2 to come to DVD for the commentaries because this Episode was EPIC!!!!! I will also say that if Community doesn't get nominated for an Emmy this year then the TV industry as we know it has hit an all time low. Ok now that I have gotten that out lets get started on how awesome Community was this week. Here are all of the classic Western motifs from this episode
Annie eating beans
Abed pulling a gun from under his Poncho (not to mention the fact that he was dressed as Clint Eastwood)
Deputized people
Pierces Saloon, complete with dancers
Pierce dressed in a black hat and trench coat (Silverado)
Eating in the Governor's mansion complete with Hispanic servant
A gun fight
A priest with a gun (Shirley)
The Weird guy siding with whatever side he wants (Think the Mummy)
I'm sure that there were more so please post them in the comments.

Anyways there were also classic community Paintball moments (slow-mo)

There were also Lost References (Network TV Handsome)

All in all they did not let me down in the least and Community is the most creative show on Television and gets my vote for best TV show of the week. I still haven't watched Big Bang Theory but I think that it is safe to say that.

NCIS: I'm not really a fan of the Orange

Wow. That is all I have to say. Ok it's not but I think this episode was my favorite of the season! I mean did you guys see it!!? It was really really good! Let's talk logistics first then go into the story.

Tony's hair was PERFECT! I mean I went back to season 1 and I was so surprised on how well they did! Then their was the clothes! Love the clothes. I think newer viewers of NCIS think of Tony as the good looking, suit wearing, goof off. Then we see Tony, wearing tube socks and sweatshirts and leather jackets. I loved it! And then Gibbs! Loved Gibbs. Loved how short his hair was and the brown on the sides. They really nailed these characters' past. Now let's talk story.

We had two separate cases. One Homicide, one P2P. They were connected really well. I liked seeing Gibbs and Tony interact in both stories. In the past story you can see that everything Tony does is a test. Gibbs is always watching. I think Gibbs saw it in him at the very beginning but the breaking point was when Tony confronted his partner about being a dirty cop. To Gibbs this was a bigger deal than arresting him. Good man that Gibbs. In the present story it was interesting because we know what the relationship is between Gibbs and Tony is. Gibbs is ticked at Tony for breaking rule number 12. For Gibbs to work this case with Tony had to be hard. There is even one point when Gibbs checks if Tony is ok. This couldn't be easy. It'll be interesting to see what happens from here.

On the Tiva front there wasn't a lot going on. Some looks when Tony mentions EJ and Ziva wondering how Tony is handling all this but no legitimate conversations. I do wonder who Tony's past fiance was? I mean besides Jessica Alba ;).

Well all in all great episode. I just loved all the past stuff with Gibbs and his divorce lawyer, partner who I would guess have died (it's been a while since season 1), Tony and his looks (or lack there of), and of course the preview for next week (Kort with a missing eye).

What did you love or hate!? Hit the comments!

Thursday, April 28, 2011

I feel like the epicness of this latest Harry Potter trailer deserves its own post (no offense, Em). I don't know if I can do it justice but I am going to try to highlight some of the more spectacular, hitherto unseen moments. So here goes, complete with pictures:
1.
Could this be our first look at the lost diadum? Not exactly how I imagined it but way cooler!
2.
Okay, now this has to be from Snape's memory, where Lily is using magic to make a flower bloom to show off for Petunia. Straight out of the book! I love that they are paying attention to little details like that.

3.
Whose hands are these? Voldy and Bella? Snape and Lily? Tonks and Lupin? Someone else completely?

4.
When does this happen? I don't remember Snape visiting Godrics Hollow. Unless it is in his memory right after Lily and James are killed and he finds out about it. Maybe?

5.
So after an almost complete and total absence from the previous movies, they are finally going to acknowledge the Tonks and Lupin love story. Just in time for them both to be killed. Better late than never, I suppose.

6.
I just thought this shot was awesome. Very Bednobs and Broomsticks.

7.
Fred!

8.
So happy that this moment makes it into the movie, cuss word and all!

9.
This is the part where Voldy and Harry fall into the black lake to finish their fight. When did that happen in the book? IT DIDN'T! I am still really skeptical about this. We'll have to see how it works, I guess.

Other notable moments include the dragon escaping from Gringotts - which looks really cool - and the burning of the room of requirement - which also looks amazing- and the Lord of the Rings-esque war at Hogwarts - which looks way bigger than it was in the book.

Hopefully that captures most of the highlights. Let me know what y'all think.

The three things that made my day!

Ok so there is no NCIS this week so instead I thought I'd give a few things that just made my day today!

1) I'm sitting at the computer watching an episode of Better With You (Brown Puppy) and I flip over to my facebook. I catch a glimpse of something that made me put down my fruit by the foot. I see "Cote De Pablo signed on." I quickly stopped the TV show and clicked the link. Yes Folks it happened!! Cote De Pablo did renew her contract for another season at NCIS! This completely put my stressed mind at ease.

Cote De Pablo Signed!

2) A few minutes later after I was done for the Better With You-ness I once again had Facebook open when I see something else that I quickly clicked on . . . A new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer. Now I think I have basically refused to hate this movie and am therefore accepting everything they do. But it did have some awesomeness in it such as 1) fight between Bellatrix and Molly, 2) Super wide shot of the battle of Hogwarts, 3) Glimpse of Narcissa's face (you know what part this has to be). Things I was hesitant to accept 1) Harry and Voldemort falling off edge together, 2) Snape walking in Godric's Hollow (when did this happen? and 3) special effects on that last shot, I could totally tell it was CGI.

The New Trailer

3) Lastly I watched the newest X-men trailer!!! So so good!!! I really think this movie is going to rock socks!!! Now I haven't watched this one a million times but I really like Mystique and I am super excited to see Jennifer Lawrence's acting as she is playing Mystique!

Yellow Spandex Rules!

Ok and the last little snippet is . . . THE FIRST AVENGERS PIC IS OUT!!!! I am so so excited! Joss Whedon is back! Check it out here

Community Update

For those of you who haven't yet seen the final line up for Community here is the rest of the episodes for the season

Paradigms of Human Memory
Applied Anthropology and Culinary Arts
A Fist Full of Paintballs: Part 1
A Fist Full of Paintballs: Part 2

Oh and the Paintball episodes are referencing a Clint Eastwood classic A Fist Full of Dollars. Therefore we can confirm that the Paintball episodes will have a western theme and Sayer from lost will guest star. Oh and Joel Mchale really does look like Ryan Seacrest. Oh and Community rocks!!! Be excited, be very Excited.

The King's Post

So I went and saw the King's Speech on Friday. Wow. It is the most successful independent film of all time and won 4 Academy Awards and deserves every single one. The entire thing was shot in a way that highlights heads and faces. They will have a shot of a head where usually it would be composed with the eyes on the upper third of the screen and the head on either the right or left third of the screen but the way that they chose to compose the shot was with the head in the lower left corner with most of the shot showing the wall. As you watch they focus on heads and faces because that is what the story is about a man who is constantly in the public view and can't speak. The cast is incredible. Colin Firth, Geoffery Rush, Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pierce (who was the bad guy in the Count of Monte Cristo), Jennifer Ehle (who was Elizabeth in the Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice), Michael Gambon (Dumbledore), and Timothy Spall (Wormtail). The fact that the film had the budget of 10 Million gives all the more credit to the film. I enjoyed it immensely and am going to see it again tomorrow. (it's at the cheep theatre)

In your extra time

Chanae came home from work and said that sometime we need to try out a tv series called The West Wing. Her boss had said that it would be something that I would enjoy. Saturday night Chanae gave me the choice to watch that or country strong. (We couldn't watch Alias because our friends have to watch it with us and they were out of town) So I started watching it. Cuddy was in the first episode, Vance was in the second, Burton Guster was in the third and is now a regular on the series, there is also the voice of Nala from Lion King, the principle from 10 Things I hate about You is also a regular, not to mention Martin Sheen. It was made by Democrats and they only mention abortion once and haven't even brought up gay marriage so it gives you more of a perspective on the beliefs of Democrats. The interesting thing is that the first season was made in 2000 which is pre-9/11. It won some emmys for camera work and I can see why. They will have entire scenes without any cuts. Just a steady-cam following the actors. The dialogue is fast and pretty good. Kind of like a political Gilmore Girls. You also get some education about how the government works. Anyway if you have some spare time give it a shot.

And in response to Emily's inquiry about if it has a love story. It most definitely does. One character's old girlfriend who he incessantly fights with joins the white house staff. There is also a story between the speech writer and his bosses daughter though he also might have something with Cuddy. Now I have only watched 8 episodes and I am starting to see these relationships form. There also might be a thing with Guss and the president's daughter. Anyway, watch it and tell me who is supposed to belong together.

NCIS: Being a dad is hard.

Alrighty! So this is late, I know I should be on top of this but it's here. This week on NCIS the P2P killer was not in the picture. Well ok he/she was BUT Gibbs and his team were kicked off the case and put on another case. I really liked the case of this episode because of its obvious Mission Impossible feel to it! The masks were legit! I really liked that they showed what they were and how they were made. I felt like the writers didn't over complicate things in the case. I followed it pretty easy. Sidenote: David, how did you feel about the camera work. There was this one shot where Gibbs was talking to someone and they had a shot on the guy then tilted up to a helicopter then fell on Gibbs. Personally I felt like they were trying a little too hard to be creative on the shooting. Then again later when Ziva was searching for the killer I thought the shots had a lot of suspense! So kinda fun show in the shots.

So we have this new team in the NCIS squadroom. Berret's team. They seem well enough off. The big guy, Agent Kade is smart but there is just something about him that I don't like. Hm . . . . what is it? Oh yea it's the fact that he's going after McGee's girl! Yea he should know that is not his territory. Oh Abby you will see the light someday! Other than that they seem like a decent team. Except EJ I hate her! Which brings us to the subject of the post.

Dear Tony, don't ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER do anything that would go against what Gibbs thinks is right. I PROMISE it won't work out. In this episode Tony decides to finally confront Gibbs about EJ. Gibbs tells him rule #12. Tony rebels, he says it's his life and Gibbs can't tell him what to do. Tony, dear young Tony . . . no. Just no. Someday you are going to understand that Gibbs is ALWAYS right. If EJ has to die in order for you to realize that then so be it. Now dear siblings and other readers I do realize that if Gibbs is always right and rule #12 does ring true that Tony and Ziva can never be together. But here is what you must realize, Gibbs makes the rules. He knows what should be and he knows that when the time is right Tiva will have his blessing. Ok well maybe not but he will be better with Tiva than EJ and Tony. I mean really! You can't even make a couple name out of that! TJ? Uh no. Eony? I don't think so.

Tiva moment of the episode: The stake out. let me take this opportunity to quote another book written by Thom E. Gemcity:
Tony: Stakeouts. Long, endless hours fueled by cheap food and even cheaper coffee, but tonight Moussad Officer Lisa didn't seem to mind, because she was getting to spend it with Agent Tomm... You're right behind me aren't you.
Ziva: Lucky guess. You know, I think McGee is right.
Tony: He was, was he.
Ziva: It takes all of my will to resist the urges I have when I'm around you, Tony. Maybe, it's about time I give in.
Tony: And by "give in", you mean...
Ziva: Do the thing that comes naturally to me, but my father would not approve.
Tony: Because I'm not Jewish?
Ziva: (Laughing) Because he doesn't like it when I kill my co-workers.
Tony: (Laughing) like I believed you for even a second.
This stake out was very good indeed. They talked about EJ a little and Gibbs. Good time. Follow-up later. EJ asks Tony if he was out with Ziva on stake-out and he changes the subject. Hm . . . why would he do that?

Alright but all in all very fun good episode. What did everyone else think?

No storyline dropped

The genius of Community's writing is that a 5 second moment can turn into a major plot line in an episode. They don't drop a storyline. They drop a hint and just when you think that they aren't going to do anything with it they bring it back and do something with it. Let us go back to Apollo 13 episode when Annie is driving the KFC 11 Herbs and Space Experience back to Greendale and she takes a sharp corner and Troy and Britta had a moment.

I've been doing a Community Season 2 marathon these past two days and it is amazing how good the writers are at bringing things back. They also had Professor Professorson back. Pierce may have found wife number 8 and apparently Angela is the boss. I don't really understand that because I never watched who's the boss. Anyway it was a good episode and I felt that they were doing some build up to the finale. Next week is the flashback episode "Paradigms of Human Memory" I really hope that we get to see Annie running through a plate glass door yelling "everyone's a robot."

The Hobbit added to the list yes?

Ok so we've all seen this but I think that The Hobbit should officially be added to the blog. No it's not TV, no it's not even a finished movie but as Peter Jackson will be adding videos over the
next few years I really think we should be on top of it. All in favor say I!

J.J. Abrams's Potential

Ok team us. JJ Abrams is one of those hit and miss kind of directors. He starts out with the (so far) amazing Alias. He nailed the pilot, romance, mystery, 3 plot twists, Action, he does a great job. Now if it goes the direction of Lost warn me now so I don't waste my time. Next he goes onto the biggest disappointment of my life known as Lost. Best first season ever and then the Audience predicted what was going to happen so they had to change what they were going to do and Ruined the whole Series. (just my theory). Next comes Star Trek. I watched the Film Maker's Commentary today. Awesome. One of the best commentaries out there. Next came Undercovers his half season NBC show and I can only hope that he doesn't do anything else until the release of Star Trek 2 (or 8 depending on how you count) because it seems to me that JJ learns from his mistakes and makes a masterpiece after a train wreck (Oh back to Trains. Woooo Wooooo)

Anyway I am loving Alias, we have our friends addicted as well. The nice thing is that she beats the heck out of the bad guy instead of seducing him. Prevents a lot of awkward moments. However I have come to know that it doesn't last forever. I do wish that Jack Bristow could be redeemed for a full 2 episodes or be a bad guy for a full 2 episodes. It seems like every other episode you switch from loving to hating him or visa versa. (by the way Chanae actually knew how to spell "visa versa") New Community this week "Competitive Wine Tasting" I'm very excited.

Oh and as a last note I believe Emily Should take the review on Castle this week. And 13 is Back. I can't wait to see her and Masters clash next week.

Sheldon Cooper is a Smelly Pooper

Only Sheldon Cooper (aka Smelly Pooper) and Amy Farrah Fowler could come up with something as ridiculous as looking for correlation between the speed at which gossip spreads and the tantalizing-ness of the gossip. Unfortunately tons of innuendos in this episode, but I guess that is only to be expected. Still, innuendos aside, there were tons of hilarious moments in this episode.
(FYI - Scientifically speaking, Amy's account of typical monkey behavior is pretty accurate, in case anyone was wondering.)

Top 10 quotes from tonight episode:

10. Sheldon: I think the nation's tuna cans are safe.

9. Amy: I just stopped by to let you know I'm getting orthodics. Also I'm also carrying Sheldon's baby. Mum's the word.

8. Sheldon: I'm no stranger to Memetic Epidemiology. At Johnson Elementary School the phrase "Sheldon Cooper is a Smelly Pooper" spread like wildfire.

7. Leonard: Perfect
Sheldon: I know . . . What and elf I would have made.

6. Leonard: It's complicated but as I remember it the essentials are: get chosen last, get hit by the ball, cry, go home.

5. Amy: Sheldon and I engaged in sexual intercourse. In other news I'm thinking of starting an herb garden. Mum's the word.

4. Amy: We need to fabricate a tantalizing piece of gossip.
Sheldon: And a second non-tantalizing piece to use as a control!
Amy: Then we'll track its progress through our social group and interpret the results through the competing academic prisms of Memetic Theory, Algebraic Gossip and Epidemiology!

3. Pria: What's that piece of tape?
Leonard: Oh, that one doesn't apply to you. You sit.

2. Sheldon: What do you think your doing?
Leonard: Shooting at a target.
Sheldon: With what?
Leonard: An arrow.
Sheldon: Really? I didn't see you draw an arrow from your quiver.

1. Sheldon: I've been thinking about Dr. Green's efforts to make science palatable for the masses.
Leonard: What about it?
Sheldon: Nothing. I've just been thinking about it. Now I'm thinking about fractal equations. Now I'm thinking about the origins of the phrase 'train of thought'. Now I'm thinking about trains.
Sheldon: Now I'm thinking about Jello. . . . Oh! Back to trains. Whoo whooooo!
Anyway, great episode! I hope we get to find out how people react to Amy's announcement that she is carrying Sheldon's baby. In other news: Howard and Bernadette. Those two are perfect for each other, but what will this mean for Howard's mom? Did Amy's account of Sheldon's fake love-making expertise renew Bernadette's faith in love? So many questions.

NCIS: Tiva action just not with eachother

So NCIS this week began the season finale stretch with the Port to Port (or P2P killer as Abby calls him). This guy is quite the creeper. He wraps up his victims in plastic wrap and slits their neck very carefully. But as we all know by the fact that you have lived with me for so very long the case is only half the episode. So let's venture on.

For the last season Ziva has begun dating this guy. We learned about him piece by piece. First he was just a friend. Then he was known as Ray. Then via Abby we hear that she is seeing someone. Finally in this episode we meet Ray. First of all ew! For a beautiful brown man they sure geeked him up! Second: Introductions. Ziva: "This is Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Special Agent Timothy Mcgee, and (quick breath and a pause) Tony Dinozzo. Dinozzo interupts: "Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo." Yea ok here is sexual tension moment numero uno. Did anyone pick up on the uncomfortable atmosphere that entered as Ziva introduced Tony. Ok ok moving on.

For the past couple episodes Tony has also been dating someone though I think there is less dating and more sleeping going on. Actually there is less sleeping and well you know what I mean. This girl I am not a fan of (no worries Abby is on my side). She is trying to put rank on Gibbs! Ok NO ONE pulls rank on Gibbs, not even Vance! Then she tries to completely take-over the Port to Port case and be all bad cop in interrogation. WHAT!? Ok sweety I think Gibbs is a tad older than you and knows how to find a killer. It's Gibbs. Then there is when her and Tony were almost making out in the elevator and it opens to none other than Ziva and Ray. Now at first Ziva just smiles and you think it's just a little awkward. Then as they get out of the elevator Ziva gives EJ the look. The look that is like "What you doin mackin on my man!?" Yea hon you are starting to realize you're with the wrong man.

This brings me to the final climatic two moments of the episode. First: Bathroom scene. Tony is releasing waste as Ray walks out of a stall and they begin to talk. Ray: "I want to get along with Ziva's friends. Ziva's told me all about you." Tony laughing: "I doubt that." Ray: "She said you were like a brother." Tony's face: like someone punched him in the gut! It was a moment of sadness yet almost joy to me because I know Tony was thinking, "Why would she say that? Why does that bother me? Should it bother me? Do I love her?" Ok a little far on that last one. Still.

Ok Finally the end scene. Tony FINDS Ziva upset over her fight with Ray (watch the episode if you want background on that one). He sits down to have a drink with her. She gets up to leave and he grabs her arm and tells her to stay. She looks at his hand clutching her arm and he quickly lets go. Then he starts defending Ray which is lame. Then she asks him about EJ and he explains his feelings. Just as the tension is rising he gets an extra drink. He asks the bartender who it's from and the bartender says the man in the back. He looks at it and it has a human eyeball in it! They look back and the man is gone! Ok GET A DESCRIPTION FROM THE BARTENDER! Oh well I guess we'll have to wait till next week! According to Pauley Perrette (Spoiler) we know who the human eyeball is from.

I apologize for the love interest emphasis but this was a really good Tiva ep. I will focus on story more in the future. What did you think siblings. Is this the end for Tiva? Was the Human eyeball from EJ? Ray? Eli? Who knows!?
