Where is your Hart?

No new NCIS OR Castle this week?  What is a girl to do??  Well luckily I'm a woman of many loves in the television world so I decided to post on another show that has captured my eyes and my Hart.  I know what you're thinking right now.  Why did Emily just spell heart wrong.  Well . . . let's get into that.

Over Christmas while I was NCIS marathoning with our cousin Erin she mentioned a new show she was watching called "Hart of Dixie".  She mentioned it had Rachel Bilson from the OC (among other guest roles How I Met Your Mother, Chuck , etc.) and some very attractive men.  So I put it on the back-burner.  Then over the weekend I began watching.  And watching and watching until I was caught up about 48 hours later.  Here's the deal.

Zoe Hart just graduated med school following in her fathers footsteps.  Her ultimate goal is to get a fellowship and eventually become a Cardiotherasic Surgeon working as a partner with her dad.  For a year she worked at a New York hospital with her boyfriend but at the end of that year her plans fell apart.  Her boyfriend dumped her, her father was withdrawing from her, and she wasn't offered the fellowship because ironically she didn't have a heart(in other words she didn't really care about her patients).  Flashback to Zoe's graduation.  While there this cute old man offered her to come work for him in Bluebell Alabama.  She promptly rejected but he didn't stop there.  He sent her postcards every month from her graduation on.  His name was Dr. Harley Wilkes.

After being rejected by the her favorite city in the world she decided it was time for a change.  So she picked her life up and moved to Bluebell.  Upon Arriving she met George Tucker, a good looking lawyer who lived in Bluebell but knew New York well as he had worked there for a year.  The chemistry was obvious and there was definitely something more than just friendship from the beginning. In the city Zoe finds out from the receptionist of the medical practice that Harley had died and that he left his daughter half his practice.  Zoe Hart was Harley Wilkes child.  She got half his practice while his partner Brick Breeland owned the other half.  The problem is that Brick wanted the practice all to himself and is set on sending Zoe away.

Zoe also meets Brick Breeland's daughter, Lemon.  Lemon is a beautiful southern girl with all the power of the women of the town.  She automatically hates Zoe and is with her father.  Oh yea and Lemon is engaged to cute lawyer George Tucker, something George failed to mention upon their meeting.

 Other main characters include:
Lavon Hayes: Retired professional football player Lavon is the mayor of the town and let's Zoe stay in his guest house in the back.  A good friend everything seems peachy with Lavon except his mysterious history with Lemon.

Wade Kinsella: Wade is a bartender and the bad boy of the town.  Zoe and Wade have a spark to say
the least but Zoe knows that Wade would never fit into her 5 year plan.

Now knowing her roots come from this small town and needing to practice general medicine for 1 full year before going on to work as a heart surgeon Zoe decides to stay for a while.

This show is just fun.  It's full of small-town traditions, chemistry, secret romance, friendship, cheesy moments, and country music.  It didn't take me very long to get into.  The characters deepen as the show progresses.  It is also pretty clean which I like.  Overall I would recommend it for anyone who likes the same genre as Gilmore Girls, OC, and Chuck, Grey's Anatomy.  I mean this as not as intense as revenge but not as light-hearted and nerdy as Big Bang Theory or HIMYM.  Check it out if you get a chance.

Next Week:
I'll be doing a lot of Blogging
Castle: Blue Butterfly - Blast to the past as Castle reads the memoirs of a victim.
NCIS 200th - Big stuff!  As Gibbs is faced with losing his life he flashes to see what things would have been like if he hadn't become an NCIS agent!
